Welcome to Winding Creek Gardens Blog. We are new to blogs but will try to use it to keep you updated on what's going on and what's new at Winding Creek Gardens. Will do. We put 600 plants in this spring and are in the process of putting in another 1000 this fall. Will be adding info to the website as things settle down alittle this fall.

IF YOU PUT DRIP LINES IN WHEN YOU PLANT ARONIAS - WON'T THEY GET DEPENDANT ON THEM AND NOT DEVELOP A GOOD ROOT SYSTEM?

Phil we are using drip hose under plastic. We've decided to us plastic around our young plants to keep down the weeding.It should last 2-3 years. With plastic we have to do some watering cause ofcourse the plastic is going to hold water out also. We only watered twice this year though. The plants are looking really good. We are in the process of putting in 1000 more and are watering the ground under the plastic with the drip hose before we plant. We are really dry here.

HOW LONG DO ARONIA BERRIES NEED TO BE FROZEN BEFORE THE TANNINS BREAK DOWN AND THE BERRIES ARE SOME WHAT SWEETER? WHAT DID YOU LEARN KNEW FROM YOUR WIS. FESTIVAL TRIP? PHIL

Hi Larry and Nancy.
Just looking around. Your website is nice. The pics make me dream of spring, summer and fall! I never made it out to get the "Knockout" roses, but I still want some to plant. If we can all make it through this winter we can have fun again!
